There is a lot of information packed into this book, and about twenty practice cases. The practice cases are helpful only if you have a study partner who is also preparing for the boards so you can do them with each other in a board type format. It's hard to do in a community hospital setting when you're not studying with other residency grads. The info is divided by subject in an outline form and it's straightforward and seems up to date. It's hard to just sit down and read it though. The procedure pearls are a little more detailed than you might be asked but the random pearls were somewhat more helpful. Generally, it's most helpful if you are able to study with others. Alas, even though I read and highlited and did the cases, it didn't help me much...

Indonesian: A Comprehensive Grammar (Comprehensive Grammars) Review

I know of no other Indonesian grammar books and I don't think you need another one if you have this! In its pages you will find a full description Indonesian that is complete and as easy to understand as possible while still retaining an academic perspective. Every feature of Indonesian is covered including an excellent description of the affixes that often pose a challenge to learners. All parts of speech are well addressed. Also included is a glossary of many grammatical terms that you may come accross in studying Indonesian. In fact I think some of them are unique to concepts of Indonesian (and Malay). I am still fairly new at Indonesian so another feature of this book I like is that the examples chosen use everyday words that you are likely to encounter in newspapers and just generally living in an Indonesian speaking environment. Well done on that score Mr Sneddon! If you are a serious student of Bahasa Indonesia then you would do well to have this book at your side. There seem to be so few resources for learning Indonesian but this is definitly a quality resource. One of the only drawbacks, but an understandable one considering the approach taken, is that the informal language that you are likely to hear in Indonesia is not covered. But what the heck! This is a grammar of university Indonesian after all. (Bythe way, if you want informal Indonesian I recommend "Making Out In Indonesian" by Pater Constantine.

While this book give good general coverage of plastics and design with plastics, the inductry is highly proprietary. Plastic properties - fatigue, steress, elongation do not behave as per standard mechancial engineering training. Plastics are often used in composite materials further complicating calculation and estiamtions of their resiliency, elengation, deformation, etc. the book is a good start for engineers to understand plastic material behavior.

Requirements Engineering Review

This book presents in the space of some 200 pages, split into 9 chapters, a clear and concise introduction to a state-of-the-art approach to requirements engineering (RE). It starts out by introducing a generic RE process, which is then instatiated, later in the book, into concrete processes for generating stakeholder requirements (i.e. user requirements) and system requirements. The beautiful thing aboout this generic process (and the concrete ones to follow it) is that V&V and change management are intrinsically part of it. The authors are particularly strong in their treatment of traceability. They have gone into an unusual depth. The book has some good advice on writing better requirements . In particular, I find the idea of requirements boilerplates (i.e. templates for each class of requirements) extremely useful. The book concludes with an introduction/demonstration of the DOORS RE tool, from Telelogic (the affiliation of two of the authors).Overall, this is an excellent book that every requirements engineer, should have on their desk. Systems Approaches to Management Review

This is a remarkable book. Inspite of a rather stodgy title, Jackson traces the various origins of systems thinking to their sociological foundations and implications. Extensive attention is given to systems approaches outside of the normal functionalist approaches ususally found in the US. I was at first intrigued and then delighted with his examination of critical thought and post-modernist approaches to systems approaches. Implications of Foucault and Kant for organizational theory are explored. Extensive applications of Jurgen Habermas's thought are made. It does make many of the other material (e.g., Senge's Fifth Discipline) seem quite shallow indeed. It is a bit more rigorous than most of the 'organizational theory' shelf!
This book deserves a place in any organizational theory class. It is an excellant example of exploring the various foundations, competing meta-theories and implications of organizational and management approaches.
