With due respect to the previous reviewer, I LOVE this book! It is rigorous and demanding - and yet clearly written with full proofs, many examples, and detailed explanations. It covers all of the topics required for an undergraduate or many a first year graduate course. There are a good number of exercises provided, many with answers or detailed hints.Quite frankly I was really surprised that the commenter ahead of me gave it such a negative review. Most evaluatios of this book that I have seen have been just the opposite. It was the primary text through which I learned Mathematical Logic, and it still occupies a prominent position on my bookshelf along with well-used tomes of Smullyan, Hodel, Fitting, Tourlakis, et al. I can't say enough good about it!
