The study of networks received much interest in recent years. This book provides an easy to read introduction covering many important topics. Hence its primary audience is probably for undergraduate students however it can serve also as reference.

In particular I like that the book focuses on many recent methods, e.g., community structures or complex network models, without forgetting past concept that have been developed either in graph theory or come from interdisciplinary research for instance from studying social networks. Also, it discusses network algorithms because only by means of these methods you can study the introduced concepts and methods numerically.

Mathematicians interested in graph theory will probably not like this book because it is not written in a typical math-style. In addition, the topic of the book is on network theory which is not exactly graph theory but comprises wider concepts (theoretically and practically).

Besides mathematician, probably everyone will like it.

I want to remark that this book is not merely a collection of published papers, but it is written as a textbook. This why the individual parts fit well to each other.

User and Task Analysis for Interface Design Review

This is the first book I've read on this subject, and it was a great starting point for me. I'm responsible for implementing a system that, in its current state, is not "user-friendly" enough. This was the book I was looking for to help me express the criticality of the user's perspective to the designers as we embark on the redesign. A starting point for our dialog will be the classification of users into "novices, advanced beginners, competent performers, and experts," and their corresponding characteristics. The example showing that approximately 80% of users do not move beyond the "advanced beginner" stage on a tool that they use relatively infrequently. This matches our experiences. For our product to be successful, we need to focus on these users, who will be the majority of our population. I also take to heart the reactions that can emerge from the shock of seeing real users working with the prototype or product for the first time: defensiveness, despair, rush to redesign, and the thought that it can all be solved by training or documentation. Been there, felt that. Through reading this book, I have a new appreciation for the complexity of the task ahead of us, and the tremendous amount of time and attention it is going to take to get it right. Fortunately, we have a user community that is currently very eager to help us get it right -- this book is going to be a valuable tool to help us collect, structure and analyze their input and experiences. I considered at a lot of other books before choosing this one -- it hit the mark for me as a manager-level view of user and task analysis, tool development and implementation. It's not a computer programming book (many user-interface books are focused on the specifics of GUI -- even including code), and it's not a book targeted at psychology majors (they hit the basics of cognitive psychology -- but from a "this is what users are like" perspective, not a theoretical standpoint.) General Anatomy and Musculoskeletal System (THIEME Atlas of Anatomy) Review

When deciding which book to get (the Thieme series or Netters)for gross anatomy I opted to go with the Thieme series. I am so very glad I did!!! Not only are the images clear and accurate (as accurate as illustrations of anatomy can be) but each book has a lot of additional medical information/explanation for whatever is being addressed on the page. Some in my study group opted to go with Netters and it gave me a headache when trying to find things on Netter pictures because (in some cases) they would have a single image with TONS of muscles/bones/structures labeled and it would become a game of find the name and follow the line and hope you don't get crossed somewhere. There was none of that with my Thieme books. Couple Thieme with Rohen and you will have an unbeatable duo that will help you immensely.

Again, each image in the Thieme books is very clear and well labeled. The additional written information along with the images really helped my learning. They may be a little more expensive by in my opinion it is worth it because you get a lot more than just pictures when you buy these books.
