In studying for my clinical boards I used this book. I Did not use the rad/bio or physics sections as I passed them last year.Pros:
1) The book has good staging figures to help you remember different staging for different sites
2) It relatively easy to read
3) Goes over some relevant studies
Cons:
1) It is not a comprehensive book so there are still some important studies that are missing
2) The questions are way too easy, and explanations sometimes involve tables that do not make any sense and are not organized well
3) Being the first edition, there are numerous misspellings of words
4) They are not comprehensive in their list of treatment recommendations, ie some diseases like 3a Lung could be treated with surgery + adjuvant chemo, and possibly adjuvant radiation if needed, however they just list chemoradiation as the treatment choice
Overall I think it is a decent book for 1st year radiation oncology residents, but do not expect this to be your primary source for clinical boards. The Boris Hristov Question book has much more high yield questions for clinical boards. But I do appreciate the figures in this book.
I hope this helps all the rad onc residents out there when studying for clinical boards.
